We build completely custom site-built masonry outdoor summer kitchens, bar areas, fire tables and fire pits—a complete outdoor entertainment area to complement your leisure lifestyle. The barbecue area we build is totally customized according to your needs, complete with the appliances that will make your patio area more convenient and more enjoyable---an outdoor extension of your home. These appliances can include a refrigerator, icemaker, bar sink, cocktail bar, side burner, searing area, griddle, beer keg, marinating drawers, storage areas, or ventilation hood where needed. The barbecue can be as elaborate or as modest as you want it to be.
Portable Throwing away your barbecue every couple of years is like throwing away your money. Our portable grills are the same high quality as the grills we build into masonry structures that are made to withstand the elements. In most cases, they are the same grills with the addition of a stainless steel cart. Believe it or not, something can be called "stainless steel" and still rust. Look for the manufacturer's lifetime guarantee on all stainless steel components.
Custom-Built Outdoor Summer Kitchens
The most important distinction here is between pre-fabricated barbecue units and the site-built masonry units that we build. Often you will hear people tak about “custom barbecues,” when what they are talking about is a pre-fabricated, factorybuilt unit. These are built out of fiberboard with metal strapping, and shipped on a truck to your home. Keep in mind that these pre-fabricated islands are not attached to your foundations. In a strong wind, they can be lifted up and carried into your living-room window, or through your neighbor’s. They can become a heavy and dangerous missile. Why, then, are they so popular? The reason you will find them in so many showrooms is that it is far easier for a dealer to order a pre-fabricated unit from a factory in some other state than to maintain a staff of skilled masons to build a barbecue on site.
In contrast, at Fireplace & BBQ Design Center, when we say “custom,” we mean custom! We mean custom in the sense that we help you design exactly the structure that fits your space and needs with the appliances that you want. And then again, custom in the sense that we build your outdoor summer kitchen area the old-fashioned way---block by block, by skilled masons, right at your home. When it’s finished, the structure is attached to your foundations and is as strong as your house. And, in fact, it's indistinguishable from your house.
